This is the largest airport in the Northwest of China and the airport is rapidly growing. The airport connects to 79 destinations and handles over 15 million passengers per year. It is the 8th busiest airport in China and is also an important cargo hub. The airport is currently undergoing expansion with a third terminal being built and a second runway.

China Eastern Airlines and Hainan Airlines operate services to most Chinese cities amoung other carriers and international services run to Bangkok, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur and Seoul.
