Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport

This is one of two airports in Shanghai and is located 13km west of the city centre and is the closer to the city centre. It is the 4th busiest airport in China and is important both for passenger and cargo flights.

The airport is connnected to the city's metro network for direct access to the city centre and is due for expansion raising capacity to 40 million passengers.

China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines offer comprehensive domestic services flying to most major Chinese cities while a number of other domestic airlines also fly from here.

Internationally a number of Asian cities are flown to including Seoul (Korean Air), Taipei (TansASia Airways), and Tokyo (Shanghai Airlines and Japan Airlines).
