Kota Kinabalu Airport serves the states capital of Sabah, Malaysia. It is located 8Km from the city centre and is the second busiest airport in Malaysia handling 4.8 million passengers per year (2009). It is the main entry point into Sabah and Borneo.

Many international carriers operate through here and fly to Asian cities such as Jakarta (Indonesia Air) Seoul (Asiana Airlines), Hong Kong (Dragonair),
SilkAir (Singapore). Malaysia Airlines and MASwings fly throught Malaysia.
